Since the launch of Gran Corona in Spring 2011, demand for Robusto has largely shifted in favour of its big brother. Both this and the introduction of the Oyaide iec version in Summer 2012 have left a vacuum for an ‘entry level’ model in the range, namely Petit Corona.  Whilst Robusto continues to be available to special order, the Corona range represents Sablon’s core power cabling offering.

All Corona power cords offer a grain-free and effortlessly musical presentation, with expansive soundstaging. Voicing, especially with the copper ac plug, is to the slightly warm side of neutral with detailed yet non-fatiguing high frequencies.  Bass is extended and solid, with full and natural tonal reproduction. An extremely low noise floor captures hitherto unheard ambient details.

Petit Corona is anticipated to become the over-performing choice in the competitive sub-$500 (shipped) market. It performs at or above the level of Robusto, a renowned ‘giant killer’ but in a more neutral manner and aims to bring Sablon performance to a lower price point.

So what does Gran Corona offer sonically over the new Petit Corona? Quite frankly, more of everything. The lows go lower, the highs higher. Soundstage is deeper, taller and wider. Dynamics become more emphatic. Noise-floor is lower still; bringing forth all that micro-level ambient information that imbues life to hi-fi systems. The Oyaide iec version offers about 40% more performance than the original fitment, so do bear than in mind when reading older reviews and forum postings!

Quantum Gran Corona however represents an ultimate evolution of the existing GC design using ever more exotic parts to appeal to the ultra-high end audiophile. The performance benefits are that this cord has become even clearer, dynamically stronger and more extended at both ends of the frequency range. This iteration moves the game on even further than the earlier Oyaide iec update!

Return Policy
We want you to have the opportunity to audition our products in your own homes and systems and offer customers both a demo programme (in USA) and also a 30-day trial period on all our standard length / termination products. In the unlikely event that you don't consider our cables to perform as expected and we are unable to resolve your concerns, then we offer a refund of the purchase price upon the return of the cord, less a charge (of upto 10% depending on value of item) to cover our original outbound shipping charges and subsequent handling. All we ask is that you speak with us first and return the cord in its original unmolested state; fair wear and tear is understood and accepted.
